In 2026, the COP30 Bike Ride will unite passionate adventurers from across the globe as they journey by bicycle and sailboat from the Amazonian city of Belém, Brazil, the host of COP30 to Antalya, Turkiye, the host of COP31, that will start on November 9th. Their goal ? Underline the benefits of cycling to reduce carbon emissions, a goal they pursue by bringing to the COP ten proposals of cycling policies to be included in the countries' climate plans.
This extraordinary event is more than a test of endurance—it’s a powerful call for bold climate action, sustainable travel, and global solidarity.
With a main start point from Belém the site of the previous COP, the ride will feature multiple starting points across continents, including Europe, Central Asia, and Africa. Participants will carry, as an olympic flame, a symbolic banner and navigate diverse terrains, from urban centers to remote regions, and sail across open waters to reach their destinations. Given the unique distance and number of cyclists, this ride should break no less than three world records !

Along the way, cyclists will :
-engage with local cycling communities
-demand 3 commitments from the officials of the towns/regions/nations they cross (on cycling policies, at the 2035 horizon, which is the end date of the next round of COP climate plans)
Together, these interactions will create a global mosaic of citizen’s action, linking local concerns to international climate goals.
.
The ride will start end of April from Brazil then it will be in June in Turkey, July in the balkans, July in Poland/Germany, early August in the Netherlands/Belgium, late July, early August in Italy, August/Beg Sept in France, September in Spain/Portugal.
